Mrs. Roberts has been the long-term Artist-in-residence for the students of Allendale Elementary for nearly 20 years. The students in her program have ranged from 3rd - 5th grade.
They are not auditioned for this ensemble. Instead, they "choose themselves" for this group by demonstrating excellent behavior, attendance, and grades. Mrs. Roberts focuses on Character Education as much as (or even more than) music education with this particular ensemble. She strongly believes in "Character through the Arts." These students were the only elementary ensemble and the only steel band chosen to perform for the prestigious South Carolina School Board Association 2014 Convention in Myrtle Beach, SC.
