PRICING & DISCOUNTS
There are many programs offered by Mrs. Roberts, some that include other performers/teachers and some that she presents solo. As a very general rule, services in the United States start at $575 per day, plus travel. International services generally begin at $725 U.S. per day plus travel. Please contact her to receive an exact quote. If you include budget information in your contact form, she can send you a proposal of all possible services that fit within your budgeted amount. It is the fastest and easiest way to narrow down what is available to your school.
Discounts are definitely considered and are most often given for the following circumstances:
1. Programs scheduled during: the first 2 weeks of school, in May during the 2 week period of SC State Standardized testing, or during weekdays in the months of June, July, and August.
2. Two schools booking on the same day (one school schedules a program in the morning and the other school schedules a program after lunch)
3. Any school scheduling two different types of programs within the same school year
4. Any school that can schedule a program, sign a contract, and generate a purchase order 10 or more months prior to the program date(s)
5. Any school that schedules annually with the artist and has a proven record of prompt payment
6. Instruments, music, and other teaching materials can be purchased from Steel Band 101 (Mrs. Roberts’ retail business) at a matching price or prices lower than any retailer. If your school is interested in purchasing any of the items being used during your residency, please check with Mrs. Roberts so you can receive the best deal possible.

Please note: As artists-in-residence, Mrs. Roberts and her band members are independent contractors and therefore do not receive state retirement or health benefits. One-third of the amount your school is being charged will end up going to towards taxes the artists are required to pay as self-employed individuals. The price your school is being charged reflects a pre-tax, pre-health insurance, pre-expense, and pre-retirement amount versus what the artists will actually have as “take home” pay.
